CRUCIBLE
TOUCHSTONE

Know what's wrong with the equipment, on the controller itself.

TOUCHSTONE turns an equipment's points into fault-detection checks for Reliable Controls systems. The checks run in the controller, and a card in RC-Studio shows what's wrong, how long it has been wrong, and the steps to find it.

The card

One card per piece of equipment. Five looks.

The same checks, shown the way each site wants: the TOUCHSTONE forge card, a light card with state tiles, a large-print high-contrast card, a neutral card, and a dealer card that carries the dealer's own name and colour.

Rendered from the card files in a test sandbox. Example equipment.

On GUILDHALL

The dealer picks the checks. A lead signs them off.

TOUCHSTONE reads the controller's backups, proposes the checks that fit the equipment, and builds the card, the checks and a coverage document that lists what is checked and what isn't. Nothing is delivered until a lead on the dealer's team signs it off.

Where it stands

Built and tested in software.

  • About 200 checks across eight equipment types, with automated tests on every build
  • Checks, card and coverage document built end to end on GUILDHALL
  • TOUCHSTONE never writes to a controller: a person loads the package
  • Smoke-control equipment is refused

Not yet loaded on a working controller. The card themes are rendered in a test sandbox and haven't been loaded in RC-Studio yet. First bench tests come next.
